Chimney sweep services — Durham, NC

Last updated: September 24, 2026

What affects the price

Cleaning costs depend on a few specific things regarding your fireplace setup. We look at the total height of the chimney, the number of flues, and how much creosote buildup has accumulated over time. If your chimney has been neglected for several seasons, or if there are blockages like animal nests or heavy debris, the labor required increases. The type of liner and the fireplace architecture also play a role in the complexity of the service. Exact pricing confirmed free on the call.

About this service

Chimney sweeping is the process of removing dangerous soot and creosote from your chimney flue. This build-up is highly flammable, so keeping the chimney clean is the best way to prevent accidental fires. Beyond cleaning, this service often includes a safety check to ensure there are no blockages like bird nests or loose bricks. It is a necessary task for any homeowner who uses their fireplace, usually performed once a year to keep the venting system clear.
